Mayweather vs Pacquiao was the dream boxing rematch which we will never get to see! The two icons of the sport clashed against each other back in May 2015 when Floyd ‘The Money’ Mayweather emerged victorious.
However, of late there was an active discussion in the boxing community that the two will go at it again. The odds of that happening do not look so good now as Pacquiao will face off against Thurman in July.
Let us take a closer look at this and see if this is really going to happen.
Pacquiao to Face Off Against Thurman in July
Manny Pacquiao is all set to face off against Keith Thurman in July. This means that it is highly unlikely that he will get to fight Mayweather again. Thurman has been a rising star in the sport and is considerably younger compared to Pacquiao who is now a veteran.
Following his epic bout against Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao got involved in the political scenario of The Philippines, where he became a senator. He has since been semi-active but continues to fight every few months. However, this bout with Thurman reduces the chances of Mayweather vs Pacquiao II.
Will We Never Get to See Mayweather vs Pacquiao Rematch?
There was a time when there was a serious possibility that Mayweather vs Pacquiao II is going to happen. Mayweather even made a recent trip to The Philippines, but it seems that the offer is now off the table as Pacquiao will be fighting Thurman. Given that both the stars have aged now, it is unlikely that a rematch will ever take place!
