The first major trade in mixed martial arts history of sports is set to be finalized by UFC and ONE Championship.
According to many sources, If UFC releases Demetrious Johnson, the former flyweight champion from his contract in order to make it possible for him to sign with ONE. In return, Ben Askren, the former welterweight champion will be released from his contract by ONE making it possible for him to sign for the UFC.
According to the sources, the deal is still on the table and has not yet been finalized; however, all parties related to the deal are quite optimistic that it will be finalized soon.

According to the respective contracts signed by Johnson and Askren they are said to have multiple fights left in their respective worlds.
MMA has never seen a transaction of this scale before though these sorts of trades are quite common in major sports.
