Due to a personal matter, Taylor Kinney will reportedly no longer play Kelly Severide on the NBC drama Chicago Fire. Taylor Kinney, who joined the show in 2012, is said to have told the cast and crew of his departure on Friday, January 20. Upcoming scripts will likely be changed to explain his absence.
Derek Haas, who helped make both “Chicago Fire” and “FBI: International” and has been the showrunner for all 11 seasons, is leaving Wolf Entertainment at the end of Season 11. He said,
Although I am leaving Wolf Entertainment next year to focus on creating new shows, I’m entirely committed to delivering amazing episodes of ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘FBI: International’ through the end of the current seasons.
A source said that Jesse Lee Soffer will leave “Chicago PD” in 2022 after 200 episodes and Jesse Spencer will leave “Chicago Fire” in 2021 after 10 seasons. But Spencer came back for the Season 10 finale to celebrate the wedding of Miranda Rae Mayo’s characters, Severide and Stella Kidd.
In September 2022, Chicago Fire co-showrunner and executive producer Andrea Newman talked about Severide and Kidd‘s new life together as a married couple. Newman said,
Somehow they’ve gotten more hot. We were talking about the fact they both had terrible role model marriages in front of them from their own parents. They’re creating a totally different kind of relationship model and marriage than anything we’ve seen before. And it’s really, there’s a ton of heat to it and they’re just getting sexier and more intense with each other in this new dynamic.
