The episode won appreciation from many fans since it tackled multiple themes. Hidive even displayed a suicide hotline after the end of the episode. Such gestures show that the makers are taking the theme of mental health quite seriously. The side characters are getting a lot of prominences. The episode did receive some backlash. Hana Kimura, a young Japanese actress, took her life some time ago. Her parents have alleged that Oshi no Ko Episode 6 made use of their daughter’s real-life story for the episode.
