The potential swan song of Marvel’s The Punisher is right around the corner. The contract between the streaming giant Netflix and Disney is over, and this is the reason why most of the show of Marvel with association with Netflix has been canceled such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders.

There are still two of the Tv shows from Marvel that will feature in the search giant for one last run, and the shows are Jessica Jones and The Punisher. There is a high possibility that The Punisher might be heading towards the chopping block as well. And before the ax starts falling Frank Castle is going to have one last shot before heading into the chopping block.

Netflix has announced on Thursday that the second and most likely the final season of Marvel drama is going to drop on 18th of January.

The Punisher – the second season

And the logline of the second season is that – Frank Castle aka The Punisher played by Jon Bernthal from The Walking Dead and The Wolf of Wall Street can run but he cannot hide from who he is meant to be, and that is a formidable vigilante.

In season 2, Frank and his story are set in a completely familiar territory. The former brother-in-arm of Castle and his best friend Billy Russo played by Ben Barner from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Westworld, is slowly beginning to heal from a traumatic injury that Castle has inflicted on him, and it is only just a matter of time that Billy gets the puzzle back together and go after Frank.

The news of the return of Marvel’s The Punisher came in the midst of the streaming giants de-Marvelization. The dilemma here is the drama series which has been canceled by Netflix has also canceled the series by Marvel based on Marvel superheroes, so will it continue somewhere else, or are they gone for good?

The sad news

Variety has reported that the characters coming from any of the four Netflix original superhero dramas other than The Punisher might not be appearing in any other venue for at least a couple of years after they are canceled.

In the trailer, Billy says that it is just like an explosive device which has reportedly gone off in his mind by scattering all of the pieces. Billy told this while unwrapping a bandage from around his head, and later he reveals his scarred yet pretty damn handsome face.

Billy even said that the face is an embodiment of the wrongdoings that he has committed so far.
