Netflix ‘pays $100M’ to continue streaming NBC’s Friends for their 130M Subscribers


130M subscribers of Netflix can continue to cherish their Friends rerun show during the holidays, reported Netflix. This relief came at the cost of a whooping sum paid by the streaming service.

NY Times reported that, for licensing the light-hearted mishaps of the 6 Friends (Joey, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel), an amount of $30M was paid annually from 2015 and now the price has been raised.

Fans around the globe were initially shocked about the news and breathed a sigh of relief when Netflix came up with this latest announcement.

Netflix on Monday tweeted that the Holiday Armadillo has granted their and Friends would still be there for them throughout 2019.
