Bobby Portis is a young 24-year old talented player who was first in the Chicago Bulls and then moved to the Washington Wizards. He was the 22nd overall NBA 2015 draft pick and could be a perfect fit for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Portis had an average of 14.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.7 blocks and 0.4 steals in his last match. He is an amazing center and power forward and has a lot of time to hone his skills. If Portis gets a chance to play with legends like LeBron James, he could learn a lot and be a legend himself one day.
Better deals for Everyone
The Lakers are interested in names such as Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker and Jimmy Butler. But given they just have $23.7 million to spend, hardly any of them would join their team. On the other hand, Portis is very budget friendly, around $3.6 million for the next season.
Other teams such as New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Utah Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks, and Orlando Magic are also interested in Portis. But what will make Portis choose the Lakers over them is that he will finally get to play on the field, instead of sitting on the bench.
