But in all seriousness, the American rapper is now the first person to ever play the musical instrument that was formerly owned by a person named James Madison, who served as the fourth president of the United States.
When she finally gets a hold of the instrument that has been used for hundreds of years, she begins to explain: “This is crazy. I must be extremely cautious.
“This originates from the beginning of the 1800s. This was a gift for James Madison from a French crystal flute maker to mark his second term.
“There was an flame… And the two items that were salvaged included a portrait of George Washington and this crystal flute that is right here.
“I am the first to play the instrument and you’re about to experience the sounds in the very first place.
“Thank you to the Library of Congress for preserving our history and making history cool. History is freaking cool, you guys!”
She then announces to the crowd in an ecstatic tone that “B***h, I just twerked and played James Madison’s flute from the 1800s!”
Lizzo posted the video to her Instagram account and captioned it with all capital letters. “YALL.. the LIBRARY of Congress Let me play their historic 200-year-old CRYSTAL FLUTE on stage tonight.
“YALL WE GOT A BETTER VIDEO — YEAH IM DOUBLE POSTING BUT IM THE FIRST & ONLY PERSON TO PLAY THIS PRESIDENTIAL CRYSTAL FLUTE ITS LITERALLY AN HEIRLOOM — LIKE… AS A FLUTE PLAYER THIS IS ICONIC AND I WILL NEVER BE OVER IT.”
One fan said: “So precious how you hold and venerate the crystal flute! Only a true musician like Lizzo would fangirl over an instrument.”
Another joke was: “This blows Sandra Bullocks Miss Congeniality’s wine trick out of the water!”
“A BLACK WOMAN BEST BE THE FIRST TO PLAY THAT DAMN PRESIDENTIAL FLUTE!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU !!!” A third fan added.
A fourth said: “You may go down in history to be the only person to EVER play this flute!”
