The latest spoilers of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236 have shocked the fans to the core, so much that they are now trying to find every way possible to keep faith in Gege Akatumi and believe that he wouldn’t do such injustice to the fandom. The ironic part is that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9 will also feature the unfortunate event of Satoru Gojo getting sealed, and both these events will happen in the same week. A lot to cope with for the JJK fans currently!

How did Sukuna Defeat Satoru Gojo? (Spoiler Alert from Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236)
The previous chapter continued the fierce fight where Gojo almost got Sukuna with his Hollow Purple Technique. The win of Satoru Gojo was inevitable, and Yuji declared him the winner. Unfortunately, he was a bit early to predict that, as the latest spoilers of the upcoming chapter did not age well with his predictions.
It was already known that Sukuna wouldn’t go down without giving a tough fight to the fandom’s favorite character, Gojo, and he did that with the help of Mahoraga, his ultimate weapon. It is revealed in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236 that the more Mahoraga is attacked, the more he will adapt. Mahoraga adapted to Gojo’s Infinite Void during the fight, modifying the cursed energy to render it null. This became the death sentence for Gojo, as Mahoraga’s manipulation expanded the Cursed Technique’s target to not just Gojo but to space, using the slash attack, slashing him in two halves.
Will Gojo Be Resurrected In The Upcoming Chapters?
Many fans believe this cannot be the end of Satoru Gojo and have devised several theories that can practically bring Gojo to life. One of the many reasons to feel that Gojo can still be resurrected is the editor’s comment at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236, which reads,
“Run Quickly To Death’s Place.”

The fans believe that since Gojo’s head was not cut off, he can still use the Reversed Curse Technique to heal himself and return to life. It might also be possible that Yuta or Shoko tries to heal Gojo while Kashimo distracts Sukuna. Fans also came up with several examples of symbolism that represent rebirth, such as the lotus flower shown in one of the panels, which in Japanese culture represents rebirth, tenacity, and persistence.

The main reason why Gojo is supposedly not dead, if we go by the fan theories, is the comment of Nanami, who mentions to Gojo that
“move north if you’re looking for a new side of yourself & move south if you want to stay who you are,”
when Gojo asks her about his last moments. This again symbolizes that he might just be reborn to stay true to himself.
