Game of Thrones season 8 is just around the corner, and with the release date so close we cannot help but speculate the storyline.
Jon Snow has grown to become a fan favourite and a major character in the epic saga that is Game of Thrones. Initially introduced as just a bastard Ned Stark, he is now been revealed to be the last Targaryen prince. But what will happen to our favourite bastard in the eighth season of GoT?
Game of Thrones has a history of killing off its main characters like squatting away flies and we have very little reason to believe that GoT season 8 is going to be any different. Naturally, fans are nervous about the fate of Jon snow, despite his growing to be the central character in the show.
Will Jon Snow die in Game of Thrones season 8?
The seventh season showed joining of Jon snow with Daenerys Targaryen in his request to defeat the White Walkers and save Westeros from being plunged into an eternal winter.
The latest GoT season 8 trailer shows that there will be an epic battle between the White Walkers and armies of Winterfell and Dany. But we’re not sure what will be the outcome of this battle. Will Jon Snow die in his attempt to save humanity?
True parentage of Jon Snow revealed
We may not be sure about his death but we do know that he will learn a major truth about his parents in GoT season 8. Season 7 saw the truth revealed to Samwell Tarly and Brandon Stark. Jon is actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, who married off in secret after Rhaegar annulled his marriage with Elia Martell.
Jon is, therefore, the true heir to the Iron Throne, a fact he is still unaware of.
Rumours also suggest that John may actually be the long-awaited Azor Ahai – the prince who was promised.
Game of Thrones season 8 episode 1 releases on April 14 on HBO.
