Cersei Lannister always stays one step ahead of the others. She cleverly led Tyrion and others into believing that she would send the Lannister armies to help them in the fight against the Night King. Even after seeing a wight with her own eyes, she couldn’t think of anything else but the Iron Throne.

The Queen has plans to stay at the King’s Landing and let Daenerys deal with the Night King along with the others. She stayed back to fend off anyone who survives the war. But it may lead to her end earlier than anyone else.
Will Night King kill Cersei?
According to a spoiler fan theory for Game of Thrones season 8, the Night King may be one step ahead of Cersei. The spoiler theory says that the Night King will split his army and send off half of them directly to the King’s Landing. So we might see two wars simultaneously. The Reddit user added,
Remember in Brans vision you see the shadow of ONE dragon flying over kings landing? My guess is the Night King.
This may also be a good reason why we saw the Golden Company arrive in the first episode of GoT season 8 itself. But is the Golden Company strong enough to deal with the Night King and his army? Maybe, in such a scenario all the forces come together and retreat to the Iron Islands.
The Night King not only has his huge army but a dragon as well. He used it to destroy the Wall. With dragon Viserion on his side, the Night King is stronger than ever.
