A Game of Thrones prequel is going to release pretty soon and some people from the original show will also join the prequel. And one of them is going to be Camilla Naprous, who was the Horse Mistress of the show. She was the one behind the choreography of scenes such as ‘The Battle of the Bastards’.
Who is Camilla Naprous?
Naprous is the owner of The Devil Horsemen Company which has a total of 98 horses. And it is located in a 120-acre area in Buckingham. In the episode ‘Battle of The Bastards’, they used around 100 horses for the battle sequence.
What does she feel about her new project?
Naprous talks about her return to the spin-off of the show in an interview with Elle. The Game of Thrones prequel is going to show the events which happened a thousand years before the battle for the Iron Throne began. Naprous says that the upcoming project is going to be fun because it’s NOT Game of Thrones. It is a brand new world.
She says, “It is going to be quite a new experience to return to the sets without the same people. I’m looking forward to it because it is going to be a completely new way of doing things.”
What will be her role in the Game of Thrones prequel?
She has also revealed that she is personally selecting the horses for the actors so that it matches their personalities. She picked brave horses for Kit Harrington that matched his role. And this was done because the horse and the rider would require mutual trust. So, in the Game of Thrones prequel, Naprous might do the same for Naomi Watts.
She is expected to be the lead in an unannounced role yet. The prequel’s casting has already been done. And the shooting is going to begin this summer. However, we still don’t have any information about the release date of the first episode of the upcoming spin-off.

Photos by Anastasia Taylor-Lind @anastasiatl | The Game of Thrones finale aired last night. This is horsemaster Camilla Naprous, the woman who brought all the horses and riders to the HBO series and trained the actors for the last eight years. Camilla was 24 years old when she joined the show in the first season, and together with the stunt coordinator she designed and choreographed ambitious battle scenes that have since made TV history. I have been photographing Camilla, the Devil’s Horsemen stunt team, and their horses for over a decade. #hollywoodhorses #thedevilshorsemen #gameofthrones #GOT
