Demi Moore has been there for Bruce Willis and Emma Heming amid his health getting worse. The “Die Hard” actor once said that he “still” loved Moore even though he and Moore broke up years ago. This has made them known as two of Hollywood’s friendliest exes. They have three daughters together: Rumer, 34, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 28. They have been married for 11 years.
After Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia earlier this year, Moore, 60, and Heming, 44, decided to help each other out. The sad news came after it was found out that the actor had aphasia, a disorder of language that makes it hard to talk. Because of his condition, which is often caused by a brain injury or stroke, he had to stop acting in March 2022.
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore got married in 1987.
They met at the premiere of “Stakeout,” in which Moore’s then-boyfriend, Emilio Estevez, was one of the stars. From 1981 to 1985, she was married to singer Freddy Moore. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore had Rumer in 1988, Scout in 1991, and Tallulah in 1994, all after they got married.
But in June 1998, they said they were breaking up, and two years later, they filed for divorce. After they turned in their divorce papers in October 2000, Bruce Willis said he wasn’t sure what went wrong in their marriage.
I still love Demi. We’re very close,
the “Sixth Sense” actor confessed to Rolling Stone that year, as quoted by Us Weekly.
We have three children whom we will continue to raise together, and we’re probably as close now as we ever were. We realize we have a lifelong commitment to our kids. Our friendship continues. The institution has been set aside … It’s difficult to live your life and marriage under a magnifying glass, which is what happens to movie star couples.
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore had their ups and downs as a couple, but they were able to stay a close family even after they broke up. Now that Willis is still having health problems, the exes seem closer than ever.
Demi has been in constant contact with Bruce and Emma,
sources with knowledge recently told Radar Online, adding,
She’s taking every opportunity she can to spend time with him. If she’s not there by his side, she’s calling on the phone just so Bruce can hear her voice.
Moore and Hemming are helping each other deal with the fact that Willis’ health is getting worse. His wife has reportedly become the middleman between the exes.
Bruce can’t say much, and it doesn’t seem like he’s grasping much of what others say,
the insider continued, adding,
So Emma’s really been the voice and communicator for him.
The troubled family has been pulling together to support the Hollywood star.
They know he won’t be around forever,
the source noted, adding,
So they’re cherishing every single moment.
