British Prime Minister Boris Johnson would be stepping down. The 58-year-old is giving into calls from his Conservative Party colleagues after a tumultuous few years.

The British PM made a public announcement on Thursday that he will be in power until a new leader is elected.

 




After in excess of 50 clergymen surrendered and legislators demanded Boris quit, the crushed 58-year-old talked external 10 Downing Street and affirmed the acquiescence news on Thursday.

“The process of choosing that new leader should begin now. And today I have appointed a cabinet to serve, as I will until a new leader is in place,” the PM said, as per Global News.

 

Boris admitted that it was painful for him not to carry on the work of his government for his full term.

Boris announced his resignation just over two and a half years after the conservative PM won the election.
