Finneas O’Connell, Billie Eilish’s brother, has spoken out about her relationship with singer Jesse Rutherford, which has been criticized because of their different ages.

After being seen kissing on a date in Los Angeles in October, the “Bad Guy” singer, who is 21, and rock star Rutherford, who is 31, confirmed that they were dating.

Since then, they’ve posted many photos of themselves together, including a controversial Halloween post in which they made fun of their age difference.

Even though the singer of “Ocean Eyes” and Rutherford appear to be happy, fans and now Billie Eilish’s brother have a lot to say about it.

In the video below, you can see Billie Eilish getting close to her new boyfriend, Jesse Rutherford.

All of this started when someone wrote on Finneas’s TikTok:

Your sister’s dating a 31-year-old man and your music is s****y.

Finneas chose to be the bigger person and ignore the joke about his music. He then addressed the remark.

He responded:

I want my sister to be happy and safe.

She is a 21-year-old adult, perfectly entitled to make her own life decisions.

Finneas has spoken out about his approval of Eilish’s relationship with Rutherford before.

He recently said:

Listen, as long as she’s happy, I’m happy.

Eilish’s parents have also talked about Rutherford’s relationship with their daughter in the past.

Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell think that the 31-year-old “is a total gentleman,” according to a person who claims to work for Hollywood Life.

The supposed source also said:

They trust him and he is sincere and only wants to make sure she is happy.

Recently, Vanity Fair interviewed Billie Eilish, and during the interview, she talked about her boyfriend.

Billie Eilish said:

It’s really cool, and I’m really excited and I’m really happy about it.

I managed to get my life to a point where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f***ing f***er alive but pulled his a**!

Are you kidding me? Can we just get a round of applause for me. Thank you, Jesse Rutherford, everyone!

I pulled his ass. All me. I did that s***.

Billie Eilish continued by stating that “physical touch” is her “love language” and that it’s important to her to draw inspiration from her boyfriend.

I want to be able to have space and I want love and attention and equal admiration is really important,

she continued.

I am really inspired by this person and he’s really inspired by me and it’s really cool.
