Tokuda is known for his colorful drawings of original characters that have been used in books and on merchandise. The talented illustrator makes drawings that look like cartoons and drawings that are so real they look like high-resolution photos. Tokuda can draw anything with a lot of detail using a colored pencil, a Copic marker, and acrylic paint. His drawing of a sea creature is one of his awesome works. When you look at the finished drawing, it looks like the gray cephalopod crawled out of the water and onto the paper.

Tokuda explained step by step on the Japanese site LINE Blog how he made the drawing that looked so real. On his blog, he wrote about each step and put a photo with it so that readers could see how the whole process worked. First, he used a pale gray colored pencil to draw the outline.

Next, he uses colored pencils to draw and paint the details. Using different shades of grey, he gives it texture and depth. Every detail, like the tentacles, suckers, mantle, and head, is done with great care.

After drawing all the details, Tokuda uses the Copic marker to change the color and make it look more real.

Then he uses colored pencils to add the final shades to the drawing.

Next, he uses white acrylic paint to make the drawing look like it is shining. This gives the cephalopod a wet, shiny look that makes it look most like a real sea creature.

When you look at the finished drawing, the creature looks like it could move at any time. Even though Tokuda showed how he drew it, it’s still hard to believe that it’s just a drawing. You can look at his LINE blog to find out more tricks and tips for drawing things that look real. You can also follow Tokuda on Instagram to see his latest drawings.
