A woman who is 21 years old said that none of the teachers of her 15-year-old “child” take her parenting advice seriously.

Hunter Nelson, a TikToker from Kentucky who goes by the handle @hunternelson, used the video-sharing app to talk about what was going on with her family.

In the overlay text of one of her videos, which has been watched 8.2 million times and liked 920,100 times, Hunter wrote:

Me driving down the road am realizing I’m 21 with a 15-year-old.

She then added:

No other parents or staff members at her [high school] are gonna take me serious,” and “I can already feel people asking me what grade I’m in when I go to her events.

Back in 2021, Hunter posted a video that went viral, and worried people on the social media platform asked her a lot of questions.

One user, who was very confused, wrote at the time:

U WERE SIX WHEN YOU HAD A BABY?

Another user remarked:

You can’t get pregnant at 6! she’s just lying about her age she’s probably 30ish

A third person commented:

I hope this is satire cause it’s not clicking for me.

In a follow-up video, Hunter explained more about her situation as a parent and reassured viewers that, as expected, she did not have a baby when she was six years old.

I recently filed for guardianship of my sister a few months ago … I felt the best way to keep my sister safe, happy and to have all her needs and wants met was to come live with me,

she said.

She said that their father died in 2015 and that her half-sister Gracie from North Carolina also lost her mother soon after.

Hunter then said that Gracie was in danger of being put into foster care after her mother died, so she did what is “100% legal” and asked the courts to be Gracie’s guardian.

Many people praised Hunter for telling her story, and one person wrote:

You owe zero people an explanation in this world. She is family. You do what you have to for family.

Another added:

My sister took me in when I was 13, and she was 21. What you’re doing is amazing!

But when she was made the legal guardian of her younger sister, Gracie, it caused some family drama. The TikToker shared a separate video in which she said that Gracie’s relatives had sent her death threats because she was made the legal guardian.

Hunter also said that the teen didn’t like it when she tried to get parental rights, but she eventually gave in. Then, Gracie told people in the same situation to “put the child’s safety, pride, and needs before their own feelings.”
