The director confirmed that there are currently no plans for the Guardians of the Galaxy to make a return anytime soon and probably that’s the last time we see the team altogether.
According to a statement made by James Gunn during the European premiere, which was reported by Yahoo News, it was supposed to be a trilogy.
I was planning on it being three films and I was always planning on this story really being the story of Rocket. I knew that to fulfil that story I really needed to go back to where he started.
But what does it mean for Star-Lord? Apparently, in Phase Five of MCU, Star-Lord, a.k.a Chris Pratt, can possibly make a comeback but just not in any of the series of Guardians of the Galaxy. While the other cast member of Guardians Of The Galaxy has confirmed that they have signed up just for this trilogy and that they would love to return if James Gunn is the director again, of this franchise.
Chris Pratt will possibly make a comeback through other movies as Star-Lord, the same as he did in Avengers: Infinity War or Thor: Love and Thunder.
