One file from the SCDNR study particularly identified the 21-year-old man who was with Tyler Doyle on that crucial January night as Christian Holden. According to the SCDNR report, Doyle and his companion Holden went duck hunting earlier in the day.
Holden was dropped off on Little River’s north jetty, and Doyle then headed south to look for ducks. He soon alerted Holden that his boat was fast absorbing water and sinking, and he did so in a panic. Doyle also mentioned that there was a problem with the boat’s motor. Doyle instructed Holden to request assistance from Sea Tow and the U.S. Coast Guard. He even got in touch with a boat mechanic, who offered guidance on possible solutions to the problem.
Despite reports and unfavourable remarks from internet users, the SCDNR has not discovered any evidence of wrongdoing or has any suspicions in this regard. Tyler Doyle’s spouse, Lakelyn Chestnut Doyle, opted to make her social media profiles private in reaction to false accusations made by strangers.

The SCDNR and other law enforcement organisations, such as the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, are currently actively searching the water and land.
Despite continued searches, Doyle’s whereabouts remain a mystery despite the fact that things that belonged to him were found near Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, on January 31, 2023.
