Ernest Ray Lynn is popularly known as legendary singer, Loretta Lynn‘s son. Ray Lynn was born in the small town of Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, USA to Loretta (formerly Webb) and Oliver “Doolittle” Lynn. Sadly, none of them are alive today. It was reported that his father passed away due to diabetes and heart failure-related complications. Oliver was a highly acclaimed talent manager.
Ernest’s mom was an iconic country music artist who was renowned for her songs including Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’, You Ain’t Woman Enough, and Blue Kentucky Girl. According to the Los Angeles Times, she passed away due to natural causes in her house in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee on October 4, 2022.
Loretta had six children– two sons and four daughters. Ernest’s siblings are Clara Marie, and twins Peggy Jean and Patsy Eileen. Unfortunately, two of his siblings Betty Sue and Jack Benny passed away in 2013 and 1984, respectively. Consequently, the late singer is survived by her four children.
Betty passed away on 29th July 2013, at the age of 64 years. It is reported that she had emphysema, which was the cause of her demise.
Ernest’s brother Jack tragically passed away on July 24, 1984, at the age of 34. It is believed that Jack Benny died in the Duck River in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee due to drowning. The Lynn family was devastated by the loss and remained grief-stricken for years.

In 2003, while driving near his mother’s ranch, he was in a fatal car crash that involved passenger Larry Thomas Claxton. Reports suggested that the incident was caused by driving under the influence.
