The Mandalorian Season 3 Recap

The Mandalorian returned after a hiatus of two years. The premiere episode of this season, titled Apostate, starts off with Din being told he’s no longer a Mandalorian. He’s an apostate however Din wants to find a way to be redeemed. Since the Empire has nuked Mandalore from the orbit, it’s going to be difficult to make his way into the Mines of Mandalore to redeem himself. But ‘This is the way.’

The premiere felt more like a recap further laying the ground for the next episode. Consequently, the fans weren’t really impressed with the first episode of the new season.

In the Second Episode, titled The Mines of Mandalore, Din travels to Mandalore with Grogu. Shortly after arriving, Din gets jumped by some creatures and captured by a cyborg insectoid. Mando sends Grogu to find Bo-Katan.

Grogu and Bo Katan rescue Mando. Bo wields the Darksaber, the last time she had it was in Star Wars Rebels, in a pretty cool action sequence. This was more of a Bo-Katan action episode, as she looked like a badass.

To redeem himself, Din has to bathe in the living waters of the Mines of Mandalore. He makes his way to the mines. Bo explains that the mines were once the lair of a Mythosaur. Mando steps into the living waters to recite the pledge to Mandalore. Suddenly, he’s dragged under. Bo-Katan jumps into the water to save him when a giant eye spots them. It’s, no doubt, a Mythosaur.

A chilling end to the episode. It felt like the true premiere of the season. All in all, the fans loved this chapter and are excited about the redemption arc of Mando.
