Japan’s Vinland Saga is a historical manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura. The series was published by Kodansha and was initially serialized in the monthly manga magazine Monthly Afternoon, geared towards young adult men, before switching to the boys’ manga magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine. Its chapters have been compiled into 26 tank-bon volumes as of May 2022. Kodansha USA has authorized the English publication of Vinland Saga.

The series follows Thorfinn. Thorfinn sets on a revenge adventure to challenge a duel with his father’s killer. In March 2018, it was revealed that Vinland Saga would be adapted into an anime television series. The series is created by Twin Engine, Production I.G, Wit Studio, and Kodansha; it is animated by Wit Studio and directed by Shhei Yabuta, with Takahiko Abiru creating the characters. Hiroshi Seko handled the series composition, and Yutaka Yamada created the music. On NHK General TV, the show aired for 24 episodes. The first three episodes of the series debuted on July 7, 2019.

Chapter 200 summary
Chapter 200 is named “Hild moves.” The previous chapter discussed how Hild set traps to capture Ivar and his men. She is smart and made them initially believe it was set to capture animals. Only when Ivar was knee-deep in a mud trap did he realize the traps were set for him. In this chapter, Thorfinn is found making landmarks to remember the dead. Vraga talks to Thorfin about two warning shots directed near his boat while passing beside Markland.

Thorfinn appears in the town with Eivar and Varga, but no one can be found. Instead, he only gathers local bolts that have been scattered everywhere. Apart from the 13 Markland pioneers’ enigmatic absence, there are no signs of blood or devastation. Thorfinn spends the entire day trying to bring down the neighborhood clan, who dare to be the Lnu. When their efforts are unsuccessful, Eivar accuses Thorfinn of being to blame, claiming that if he had allowed weapons in Vinland, people would have known how to defend themselves, and none of this would have happened. An upset Thorfinn questions his decision as the chapter comes to a close.
