The celebrated actress is set to release her maiden novel, Nineteen Steps, this coming September, through William Morrow, an established imprint of HarperCollins.

Nineteen Steps isn’t just another historical fiction. The story borrows deeply from Millie’s personal lineage, drawing inspiration from her grandmother Ruth’s harrowing experience during the Bethnal Green tube disaster.

The tale takes a dramatic turn one fateful evening during an air raid, pushing Nellie’s life into chaos. But as the secrets from that night slowly come to light, the resilient spirit of love and hope in the face of despair becomes the heart of this tale.
