Ice can hurt or kill, but it can also make some of the most beautiful and exciting sights of a winter wonderland by accident. A million different things can affect how ice forms and even the smallest change in humidity, temperature, or wind speed can cause a wide range of natural events.

Ice is pretty to look at, but it can also kill you. Black ice, which happens when precise ice forms on a dark road, has caused and almost caused a lot of deaths and near-deaths. Hailstorms can also do a lot of damage and kill people. In the U.S., the bowling ball-sized hailstone was the biggest one ever recorded.
