Several animators have spoken out against Mappa’s inhumane working schedule and toxic glorification of overworking. The overwork and stressful working schedule were paid in mental breakdowns that the animators suffered during their time in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, and the real compensation was not up to the standards, as stated by a few of the animators.
With the announcement of the Chainsaw Man Movie, fans are now scared about the quality of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will start with the Culling Game Arc and deal with one of the most significant phases of Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans do not want any mess-ups with the Culling Game arc and feel Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 should be handled by some other animation studio.
It was reported that the same animators had to work on Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, so according to rough calculations, of the two years given to Mappa by the committee to animate JJK Season 2, CEO Otsuka gave his animators only six months to complete the series by making them work on all these projects simultaneously. Fans feel this has caused the quality of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, and Jujutsu Kaisen in Mappa’s hands again could make things worse.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: Will Mappa Give Its Animators Any Rest?
Fans are worried about the health of the animators and fear that Mappa, the animation studio, may ignore the hardships that the animators have gone through. However, this time, things might be different as Mappa has bagged the rights to Chainsaw Man alone. Therefore, Mappa could have more flexibility in altering schedules without conflicting with the committee members’ decisions.
It is anticipated that the Chainsaw Man movie will be released in December 2024, with a gap of at least one year. This may also give the animators time to animate Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 and Vinland Saga Season 2. But with the schedule of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 rumored to be released in 2025, things look a bit tricky for the Mappa animators yet again.
