Harvey Weinstein scored a big win in a criminal case of sexual assault when the judge dismissed one of the three charges on him. The judge dismissed the case that involved the actress Lucia Evans as the prosecutors jumped the gun to ask the judge to 86 the charge of sexual assault.
The lead detective is alleged to have tampered with a witness. The witness claims that Evans admitted to voluntarily engaging in oral sex for getting the role. However, Evans puts up a different story and says that it was Weinstein who forced her to do so.
The detective is alleged to have hidden the information about the witness’ dealing with the prosecutors and cajoled her not to disclose anything that she knew regarding the case.
Ben Brafman, Weinstein’s lawyer, also asked the judge to review the detective’s work again. The judge didn’t confirm to it yet. There are five other criminal charges involving two other women against Harvey Weinstein.
