Robert De Niro revealed that he had his seventh child recently at the age of 79.
In an interview, the Meet the Parents star shared the news as he was promoting his new movie, About My Father.
In a discussion with ET Canada regarding fatherhood, the veteran actor said that he believes “in being loving with [his] kids,” but sometimes it’s essential to “be stern about stuff.”
Robert De Niro said:
I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice.
‘And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.
A journalist from ET Canada then stated saying that Robert De Niro had six children. The actor then corrected the journalist, saying,
Seven actually.
I just had a baby,
Robert De Niro added.
He didn’t disclose any other details about the baby, like who the mother of the child is. But De Niro’s rep did confirm to the news outlet that the actor did have another child.
Following his split from his wife, Grace Hightower in 2018, he has been recently spotted with martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen.
In March, they both were seen leaving Giorgio Baldi’s private room in Santa Monica together after having dinner with Harvey Keitel and Billy Crystal. Tiffany Chen seemed as if she had a baby bump at the time.
De Niro has two children with his ex-wife, Diahnne Abbott: Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46. He also has two children with his current wife, Grace: Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11. He has twins with his ex-wife, Toukie Smith: Aaron and Julian, who are 27 years old. And finally, his youngest child, whose name isn’t known as of now.
