Chainsaw Man follows the story of Denji, a young man in poverty. When his father dies, Denji is left with much debt and works for the Yakuza to repay it. He gets betrayed by the Yakuza and is killed. Denji is then revived by a dog-like Devil called Pochita and is turned into Chainsaw Man. He then seeks revenge against the Yakuza and is later scouted into a devil-hunting team working for the government.
The manga has 123 chapters published so far by Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. The second arc of the story is published by Shueisha’s online magazine, Shōnen Jump+. As of January 2023, the manga has over 23 million copies sold, making it one of the best mangas of all time.
