Overlord Season 4 release status has not been confirmed and fans of the anime series are worried over the lack of updates from Madhouse Studios. While there are no reports about Overlord anime series getting canceled, viewers are looking forward to something interesting.

Luckily, the official English translation of Overlord’s light novel Volume 12 will be out this year and fans can easily pass their time till the anime returns. It also hints that Overlord Season 4 will be renewed soon and an announcement regarding the official release date from the animation studios will be out soon.
Overlord Season 4 Renewed or Canceled based on Light Novels
Overlord Season 4 will be based on the light novel Volume 9-12 as per the previous seasons and source materials connection. It means the makers would only release the anime once the novels were but their English translation takes very long. Overlord light novel installment titled “The Paladin of the Holy Kingdom (Part 1)” originally released in September 2017 in Japan.
But the English publisher Yen Press will be coming out with its English-counterpart in June 2020 at the stores worldwide. The gap is almost around 3 years and still it is the shortest waiting period till now for any of the Overlord light novel volumes. Hence, the gap between season 3 and season 4 of Overlord could take years and fans don’t have to panic about that. The good thing is Overlord Volume 14 titled “The Witch of the Falling Kingdom” will be coming out in March in Japan, hinting that production Overlord Season 4 could start soon.
Overlord Season 4 Anime Release Date
Overlord Season 4 has not been announced yet but the creators of the anime and the series writers have hinted that it will happen soon. The anime writer Yukie Sugawara, series creator Kugane Maruyama, and illustrator so-bin has hinted that Overlord Season 4 is extremely likely to happen at AnimagiC 2019 in Germany during last August. Fans could expect the fourth season of Overlord anime to premiere in late 2020 or early 2021.
