The reigning MVP is a player who everybody wants on their roster. His performance and stats speak tons about the impact he can have on any team. The Nets need that one superstar who can connect all the quality pieces they already possess. In other words, Embiid is exactly what they need.

Why would the Sixers trade-off Joel Embiid?
The Sixers would not like to let their superstar go, and they are trying everything they can to avoid that. To pursue Embiid, they will either have to convince James Harden to stay or replace James with somebody of a similar caliber. The clouds of the rebuilding phase are looming on the Sixers. They will get three players and four draft picks, but will this be enough to heal the pain of Embiid’s departure?
