LeBron James’ “The Decision” show was attended by Donovan Mitchell when he was 13 years old. LeBron announced that he was going to join Miami in that show, Mitchel being a LeBron fan, cheered for LBJ, and in return, he almost hurt his head by the angry Cavaliers fans present there. LeBron’s decision to join the Miami Heat was widely criticized by the fans at that time. LeBron played his first seven years in the NBA for the Cavaliers and led the team to its first NBA Finals appearance in history. James faced a lot of booing from the fans, which was quite unfair. James gave their first 7 years to the Cavaliers and did quite well for the team, and the hate was very unreasonable.
“I’ve kind of accepted this kind of villain role that everyone has placed on me, I’m OK with it.”
LeBron James regarded as villain
The main reason why Lebron got so much hate was for ‘superteam’ creation. Miami had the Big Three (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh) and was one of the top contenders in that league. The star-studded team was a big threat to all the other teams back then. Most of the fans that hated him were probably because James was not in their favorite team.
All that hate did not make any sense because in the end James was just a professional player who changed his team and it should be accepted by others. You can express your disappointment but straight up hating on a player and terming him as a villain just because he changed the team cannot be justified.
Donovan Mitchell almost hurt his head
Donovan Mitchell was 13 years old when James was filming his live show “The Decision.” Being a big LeBron fan, Mitchell went to attend that show. LeBron James announced his decision to join Miami Heats in that show, which was created among the Cavaliers fans. Mitchell was cheering for LeBron and got almost hit by a Snapple bottle.
"I almost got hit in the head with a Snapple bottle."

Such was the impact of that decision. LeBron returned to the Cavaliers in the 2014-15 season, and suddenly he got turned into ‘a savior’ from a ‘villain’.
