Karl-Anthony Towns made headlines after winning the NBA All-Star Weekend 3-point contest in 2022. Karl was already tagged as one of the best shooting big men in the league and he proved that. There were a lot of expectations from him and he lived up to that and shined differently.
After this 3-point win, he became the third big man to win that contest in the history of NBA, Kevin Love and Dirk Nowitzki were the first two. He showed his versatility in that season.
Karl Anthony’s performance in the 2021-22 season
In the first half, Karl scored 22 points and in the final round he ended up with 29 (three more than Trae Young and Luke Kennard). He got the chance to score 30 points but unfortunately, he missed his last three shots in the final round. Karl had an average of 24.6 points per game in that season. He also had an average of 9.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 74 games in the 2021-22 season which was fabulous.

In the 2022-23 season, Karl-Anthony Towns continued his good performance and averaged 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists. He has been playing a key role for the Timberwolves.
According to stats, Karl Anthony – Towns were 13-1 to win the contest at Caesers Sportsbook but that didn’t affect Karl and he went on to perform brilliantly beating all the odds against him.
Karl-Anthony Towns’s message for Shaq
Karl after winning the 3-point contest became the third big man to win that, and caught everyone’s attention. He has been playing a key part for the Timberwolves and his stats are proof of it. During the post-match interview, he said Shaq was something that every fan enjoyed. He proved Shaq wrong after winning that 3-point contest and Shaq agreed to it humbly.
After the win, Karl-Anthony Towns directed toward Shaq and said something that caught everyone’s attention. He said:
