The eleventh-hour cheating scandal of the year—the third-hour Good Morning America co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes hosting each other’s…hearts—resonates with the public in a different way than the other cheating scandals we’ve seen.
When Adam Levine asked Sumner Stroh, an Instagram model, if he could name his unborn child after her, everyone was shocked. When the other Guys and their fans found out who Ned Fulmer was and that he had cheated on his wife, the Try Guy who had been kicked out was basically charged with treason. But after a source published invasive pap shots of the GMA3 hosts kissing and allegedly cheating on their (soon-to-be-ex) spouses on Wednesday, the Internet was like, “Well, you can’t deny the chemistry…”

We’re so taken with this couple that when we found out they co-host the third hour of Good Morning America with Jennifer Ashton, we were not only shocked but also envious! Ashton is right in the middle of the most adulterous romantic comedy of the year. In fact, the people who make rom-coms for GMA3 are counting on us to watch this one. A person who knows the show well told Page Six,
This is ratings gold. That’s why [ABC News President] Kim [Goodwin] wanted them on the show today.
The network isn’t punishing Robach and Holmes for their affair because it’s expected to bring in a lot of viewers. It seems like the many photos of their affair only serve to make us laugh at the whole thing. Whoever hired the private investigator to follow them for months, our deepest apologies, but if you were trying to get them into trouble, it looks like you’ve only made their bold love stronger. (We’re still not sure when their marriages ended, but it looks like both have been over for months, and neither co-host seems too upset about the fact that they were having an affair.)
