Google’s cloud computing business’s head, Diane Greene, who was taken up by the company 3 years ago to build the business of Google, is now being replaced by Thomas Kurian who is the former executive of the Oracle.
On Friday, Google stated that its cloud business will now be joined by Thomas Kurian who will be joining from the 26th of November. The company further added that Kurian will take over the role of leadership in the early 2019. Until then Greene will continue to be the CEO of the cloud business.
Greene had previously co founded as well as run VMware. Greene had encountered a rocky tenure and has brought to Google some serious enterprise chops.
She has even won business from the likes of Spotify as well as Snap and has also staffed up the sales team of the enterprise.

Despite all this, Google failed drastically to beat the massive lead of the e-commerce giant, Amazon in the market along with Microsoft which had earlier established itself in the second place after Amazon in the market.
Greene who is currently the director of Google which is a subsidiary of Alphabet and has held the position since 2012 will be staying on the board.
Thomas Kurian has spent more than two decades at the Oracle and has risen up to the President level in the department of the product development.
He had stated in an email to his employees in September that he will be taking some extended time off. Despite mail, he had resigned from the post before the end of September.
On Friday, in a blog post, Greene stated that she along with the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai and the senior Vice President for the Technical Infrastructure, Urs Holze had all interviewed Thomas Kurian for the role.
