Francia Raisa was born on July 26, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are Virginia Almendárez (née Pelayo), who is Mexican, and Renán Almendárez Coello, a radio host originally from Honduras. She grew up in Los Angeles.
Several years after her birth, her dad began utilizing his newly established Latin broadcast persona, “El Cucuy”. Raisa was a student at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California, where she actively participated in cheerleading.
