Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, wrote an emotional post on Instagram asking the paparazzi to “keep your space” after her husband was recently diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
This weekend, Willis wrote a blog post in which she talked about a video of her husband having coffee with friends and begging photographers who were trying to get the “exclusive” story:
I know this is your job, but maybe just keep your space.
She continued:
Please don’t be yelling at my husband, asking him how he’s doing, or whatever. The woo-hooing and the yippee-ki-yay’s – just don’t do it.
Give him the space. Allow for our family or whoever’s with him that day to be able to get him from point a to point b safely.

Willis asked her fans a question in the caption of her post:

Many of the people who left comments agreed with Willis when she asked for her husband’s safety and privacy.
Others answered her question by telling her what to do.
Bruce was first diagnosed with aphasia in the spring of 2022. Last month, Emma told Bruce’s fans on Instagram that he has FTD, which is a more specific diagnosis.
While it is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.
She also expressed the family’s “deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis.”
We wish them the best as they go through this, and we hope that photographers will respect Emma Heming Willis’ wish that her husband is left alone and safe.
