Edge of Tomorrow 2 is kind of confirmed by director Doug Liman who said that he is excited to work on the sequel. Liman also revealed that he will try to do something special with Edge of Tomorrow sequel and it will be very different compared to the traditional sequel. There are some reports which confirm that the screenplay for Edge of Tomorrow 2 is almost finished and filming will start soon once Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are available.
Both the stars are busy with other projects such as Mission Impossible 7-8, Top Gun: Maverick, Marry Poppins sequel, A Quiet Place 2, etc. Based on the production schedule, Edge of Tomorrow sequel could release somewhere around in 2022-23 and the trailer would come out six months before the premiere.

Fan theories are claiming that Edge of Tomorrow 2 will be a prequel within a sequel and Rita Vrataski will have the day-reset powers instead.
Brendan Gleeson and Noah Taylor will be also joining the cast along with Tom Cruise in the sequel. Doug Liman has also teased about a third main character in Edge of Tomorrow 2 who will steal the show in the movie sequel.
