The DCEU movies recently got a big boost after the release of Shazam! And it has received a hearty welcome worldwide. So, let’s see if Shazam! ranks up to the list of other DCEU movies.

Suicide Squad
The movie was full of colours, but extremely flawed. Suicide Squad was the third movie of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). It did not have a proper structure and there were way too many elements in the film.
Even though the movie was a bummer, the cast’s performances were delightful. Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jay Hernandez, and Jai Courtney delivered their parts and saved the movie.
James Gunn, director of the Guardians of the Galaxy is all set to renovate the the franchise with a new cast.
Justice League
Justice League released in late 2017 and felt like it was fulfilling an obligation. It is difficult to pinpoint as to what went wrong in Justice League. But, there was a split in production between Zack Snyder, who had a long term plan for the DCEU and Joss Whedon, who was a backup.
Of course, it was a delight to see all the superheroes come together, in whatever few moments counted for it. But, it couldn’t capture the full essence of the cast and left all of us with question marks.
Man of Steel
Man of Steel was the first film of the DCEU and it received lukewarm reactions initially. But Snyder’s vision of Superman going beyond the earth like in the comic books did stir some good reviews among the fandom. The ending of this DC movie was quite controversial where Superman kills the villain, General Zod.
The movie also included high destruction levels in Metropolis and a harsh philosophical perspective towards the idea of superheroes. And Man of Steel managed to set the tone and pace for the upcoming movies.
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
The biggest USP of this DCEU movie was bringing Superman, Batman and Wonder-Woman together for the first time on the big screen. It was definitely a huge hit,but it also polarized the fans a lot.
Batman vs Superman brought in almost the entire DC universe which included Lex Luthor, Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, Doomsday and also the Fourth World. But, the movie loses the two leads in sight with the bigger picture getting more importance. Nevertheless, bringing the trinity on the big screen definitely gave them the needed boost.
Aquaman
Aquaman was jokingly ridiculed as the superhero who could talk to fish for many years. But, Aquaman’s movie release in early 2018 gave Arthur Curry the last laugh because this DCEU movie broke all the world records. It became the highest grossing DC movie till date, earning $1.47 billion dollars and counting!!
But, apart from the monetary income, the movie showed Jason Momoa‘s charisma and dedication as Aquaman. The CGI and the entire story was brilliantly shown.
Shazam!
Shazam! Is the most recent DCEU movie and it has proved to be one of the best among the lot. It comes across as a family and friendly superhero with just a little bit of edge, thanks to David Sandberg’s horror movie senses.
Shazam! Is actually the Warner Bros own Guardians of the Galaxy.
Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman has proved to be one of the best DCEU movies in this list and for all the good reasons. It had a great cast, great visuals, and a simple but effective story.
But, the movie fell into the trap of a third act villain. Nevertheless, it could not bring down the success of the movie. It featured a major female superhero who stayed true to her story and also her role.
