Food and drug administration (FDA) agency issued a warning to Curaleaf for unsubstantiated claims regarding the use of cannabidiol (CBD) to cure cancer. Even though studies agree that consumption of marijuana can relieve pain, it doesn’t mean it is safe to use the drugs. The process works through a change in the mental condition of the affected patient.
However, research is still needed to prove the efficiency of cannabis in the treatment of cancer and Alzheimer’s like serious illness. Unless the cure for cancer is totally tested in all stages, the FDA can’t approve any sort of medication. Here are the details on the Curaleaf medication and the reasons why the FDA rejected it.
Use of CBD as Cure for Cancer
In a recent press release event, FDA commissioner Dr.Ned Sharpless has stated selling unapproved products can harm patients. It is stated that CBD can cause serious medical risks to the users who consume that without any proper supervision.

The agency filed a warning against Curaleaf deeming its product as unapproved and misbranded. FDA has cited that the company claims to stop the cancer cells from spreading, which is yet to be proved. Curaleaf states efficiency of CBD even in the treatment of breast cancer.
Cancer Cure is still under Research
Last year, Epidiolex was the first oral CBD to be approved by the FDA for the treatment of epilepsy patients. Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome were the two epilepsy types treated without high intoxication of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) drug.
However, CBD efficiency in treating cancer is yet to be supported by solid and scientific evidence. There is increased in new noted cases of cancer to 18.1 million according to the reports of 2019, World health organization (WHO) and death linked to disease increased to 9.6 million. The fact is that the application of CBD for cancer cure needs scientific support.
