A sweet cat named Bruno, whose love was too much for one family has finally found the right person.
Bruno, a buff-colored tabby in New Jersey, went viral a few months ago after the Montville Animal Shelter posted on Facebook about the cat being adopted and then returned.
Sad news Bruno came back after only a week!
the shelter wrote.
The family never had a cat before and said he was too affectionate, always wanted to sit on their laps, follow them around, and head-butt them for kisses and pets.
The shelter also said that Bruno was “too playful” for the family and “got zoomies in the evening.” Zoomies are sudden bursts of energy that make cats run around like crazy.
But Bruno’s big personality made him a great pet for another couple in the state. The couple, whose names are Catherine and Andrew, told NorthJersey.com that they first saw Bruno online before the animal shelter’s Facebook post went viral.
A few hours later, [Catherine] sends me a screenshot of the post with like a thousand shares, freaking out like ‘What if we don’t get him? What if he got too famous,’
Andrew told the website.
Bruno the cat was so popular that the shelter had to stop taking applications for him.
But in the end, it was Catherine and Andrew who took him home. His new family thinks it’s “adorable” when he headbutts them to wake them up in the morning.
When we first picked him up, he basically crawled into my neck … I think he was very excited to leave the shelter and be held again,
Bruno could only go to one lucky family, but his story helped other cats at the shelter find homes, a staff member told NorthJersey.com. She said that so many people wanted to meet Bruno that “almost all” of the cats at the shelter were adopted.
