Even before dropping its first season, Amazon had given Jack Ryan Season 2 green light. And now, ahead of its second season, Amazon has confirmed that the series will be returning for a Season 3 as well.

The adaptation of Tom Clancy’s novels featuring the titular CIA analyst was released on Amazon Prime in 2018. ‘The Office’s John Krasinski plays Jack Ryan in the web series. He is the fifth actor to take on this persona. The role had earlier been played by actors such as Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine in film adaptations.

There has been no confirmation of the actual release show. But considering the first season was released in August, fans can also expect Season 2 to return around the same time.

The series has largely been following Jack Ryan’s adventures in the novels. The finale of the first season ended with the character of Jim Greer being transferred to Moscow. If Jack Ryan does accept his invitation to join him, the series could follow the story in the books. However, considering that the books were based in the Cold War period, fans can expect some necessary changes for season 2.

According to the official synopsis released by Amazon, the action is all set to shift to South America. This has gotten fans even more excited. Fans of the novels are expecting the Jack Ryan season 2 to adopt one of Tom Clancy’s most famous novels, Clear and Present Danger as well. The book that has a film adaptation already, sees Ryan take on the South American Cartel.
