It’s easy to say that this generation is very different from the one that came before it. Older people are always telling us that today’s parents are too nice to their kids and that when they were young, they didn’t mind being hit for misbehaving or teased for being left-handed. This is something that older people say all the time. In today’s world, this way of thinking won’t get you very far.
There are a lot of old pictures that show what it was like to be a child before digital cameras. Today, things are very different for both children and their parents, as shown by these photos.

This mother and her child posed for a picture next to the Statue of Liberty… Even before it had been taken out of the box.
No bad thoughts
Back when this advice was given, it seems like expecting mothers were told not to think anything bad. People thought that if they did that, their child would turn out to be a burden on society.
No lefties
People also used to think that being left-handed was a sign of bad morals. In order to fix the damage, they would put a cast on the patient’s left hand so that they couldn’t use it. This was obviously painful, and in today’s world, it would never fly.
No cuddling
Also, people thought that parents shouldn’t show their kids too much love. No extra kisses or hugs will be given… God bless, that fashion trend is finally over!
Choose wisely
Back then, parents had to use their own judgment when choosing a name for their children. Soft names were strictly forbidden. What does it mean to have a “soft name”? In today’s world, that would never work.
Unsafe biking
We just want to say that we don’t think that small child should be on the back of that bike.
Passenger seat
A young child shouldn’t sit on such a seat in the first place. At this rate, she won’t be able to keep her feet on the ground for long.
