Sharon Mae Disney, the second daughter of Walt and Lillian Disney, was adopted as a baby. It is said that Lillian experienced multiple miscarriages both before and after giving birth to their oldest daughter, Diane Marie Disney, in 1933.

As a result of complications during pregnancy, Disney and his wife decided to adopt Sharon at the young age of two weeks. While they were open about Sharon’s adoption within their family, they became frustrated when others outside of the family brought it up.

To protect their daughters’ privacy, the Disneys made a conscious effort to shield them from the public, especially after the Lindbergh kidnapping. Disney also took measures to prevent the press from taking photos of his daughters.

Career

Sharon Mae Disney had a short stint as a model and actress, with a minor part in the 1957 movie Johnny Tremain. She was later chosen to serve on the board of directors for The Walt Disney Company.

In addition to this, Sharon also held positions as a trustee for the California Institute of the Arts, the Marianne Frostig Center of Educational Therapy, and the Curtis School Foundation.

Following her passing in 1993, Sharon was remembered as a generous philanthropist who donated millions of dollars to support educational and cultural institutions.

Personal Life

On 10 May 1959, Sharon wed Robert Borgfeldt Brown (1928-1967). The pair welcomed one child, Victoria Diane Brown, who was born on 21 January 1966 in Encino, Los Angeles, California, United States. Victoria was adopted by her parents. Tragically, Walt Disney’s granddaughter Victoria passed away in 2002 in Los Angeles, California, United States.

Sharon Mae Disney was wedded to Brown for nearly four decades until his passing in 1967. She then tied the knot with William S. Lund and together they had two children, a set of twins. As a result, she had a total of three children: Victoria Diane Brown, and the twins named Brad and Michelle Lund.

Lund, Sharon Mae Disney’s second spouse, was a real estate developer who discovered the 27,000 acres of land in Orlando that eventually became the beloved Disney World, Walt’s second “Happiest Place on Earth” after Disneyland in Anaheim.

Sharon gave birth to her children Brad and Michelle and raised them in Los Angeles. She made sure to protect them from the attention that comes with being associated with Disney.

In an interview with THR, Brad revealed that he had a normal childhood even though his family was affluent. Although he never got the chance to meet his grandfather, Walt, Brad inherited his passion for model airplanes and trains. He and his twin sister were very close until recently.
