Life Before Fame
Theresa Nist and William “Bill” Nist were married for 42 years. Similar to Gerry, Theresa experienced the loss of her first true love. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2014. In November 2022, Theresa’s daughter, Jen, wrote a touching tribute to her late father on the 8th anniversary of his passing.

The couple publicly announced their divorce on April 12, stating that they had mutually decided on their ceremony on January 4. Turner spoke with Good Morning America about their decision to separate,
“Theresa and I have had several heart-to-heart conversations, and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, and so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
