Travis Tyson has earned fame from his appearances on reality TV shows, but also due to his father, the highly esteemed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. When he was still a young teenager, Travis Tyson joined forces with his father, mother, sister, and his father’s cousin, Monique Fortune, to take on Rick Fox’s family on an episode of Family Feud in 2017.
Rick Fox’s squad, comprised of his sister Jeanene Marie Fox, son Kyle Fox, sister-in-law Neriah Davis, and brother-in-law Ethan Marshall Edwards, squared off against the Tyson family.
Travis Tyson was the first to tackle Fast Money. He achieved a remarkable 142 points, demonstrating that his father’s talent for the game had been passed on.
The following round was dominated by Tyson’s dad, Neil, who was wearing a cosmic-themed vest and blew away the other players. The presenter gave up counting their score because it had clearly exceeded 200 points.
He was also a contestant on the reality TV show Claim To Fame but he was eliminated. He was the second contestant to be eliminated in season 2.
Before Travis was eliminated from the Claim To Fame house, Franklin Jonas seized the chance to communicate his high regard for Travis’ father. Franklin said,
“Your father is a personal hero of mine. I always wanted to study astrophysics as a result of your father’s work. It is an incredible honor.”
Travis was eliminated from the contest just a week after Carly Reeves was kicked off in the season 2 opener. Carly had been identified as Tom Hanks’ niece in a bombshell round of questioning. Every week, a new famous family member is brought to light.

Neil deGrasse Tyson has become significantly famous and well-known throughout his career, and his son, Travis, has also become well-known by association. In contrast, it appears that Travis prefers to stay out of the limelight and away from press attention.
