Previously, the fans saw that June called up Luke to ask him and Nicole to see the Waterfords. It would be correct to say that she was instead forced to do so. Luke had no plans of meeting Fred, but he agreed on Serena. Following this, Serena visited Luke and gave him a package from June. The package contained an audio cassette recorded by June for Luke.
While the viewers are not aware how Serena managed to pass the tape to Luke as it was still with her when she took a flight to Gilead. Let’s not contemplate on that for now. At the episode’s end, we see that the Waterfords are conniving for Nicole’s peaceful return to Gilead.
The following episode of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 shows Waterfords diplomatically trying to get Nicole back to Gilead using their pressure-increasing tactics. It seems that Serena has flip-flopped once again. She wants Nicole to return back to home, and the Waterfords will do everything in their power to get that done.
