Elon Musk: The early struggle of Tesla
Talking about his nostalgia and initial struggle experience with Ryan McCaffrey, Elon Musk said
“I thought, we have a maybe 10% chance of success.”
To reiterate his early struggle days, Elon Musk is coming up on Sunday podcast, entitled: Ride the Lightning Tesla Motors Unofficial Podcast.
Elon musk admitted being dominate by skepticism and was constantly ridiculed for his electric car concept.
“These days people don’t remember just how foolish it seemed to make an electric car. We were just relentlessly denigrated and said that you know, we are obviously going to fail and the fact that we’re doing an electric car was just stupidity squared.”
Elon Musk’s distress over the unrealistic success of Tesla
Elon Musk admitted being distressed over unrealistic negativity and speculations against Tesla.
He also recalled his hard labor days, during the program of ramp-up Tesla model 3, where Elon Musk worked over 120 hours a week to ensure the market push of the model 3.
Elon Musk also explained how people were denigrated about electric cars back in 2008 and said:
“Now that there are lots of electric cars, people don’t realize that this was not the case at all back in 2008, when we went into production with the Roadster, or certainly 2012 when we went into production with the Model S.”
Elon Musk revealed that he would have never allowed Tesla to die under any circumstances
“The other option would have been, Tesla dies… Tesla cannot die.”
Elon Musk’s vision of Tesla
In a message, Elon Musk explains how Tesla is resilient to hard times and challenges. Elon Musk earlier sent a personal mail to all his employees stating the importance of cost-cutting. The mail was circulated in April this year after Tesla reportedly suffered fiscal quarter loss and generated less revenue.
Elon Musk has been severely criticized by business personnel and investors, for learning the hard lessons that other automakers learned a century ago.
Continuing with Tesla’s vision, Elon Musk asserts Tesla as a future of sustainable transport and energy generation.
