Shantel VanSanten hails from Luverne, Minnesota, and comes from a mixed Dutch and Norwegian heritage. She grew up in Spring, Texas, and completed her education at Incarnate Word Academy, a Houston-based all-girls college preparatory school, and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. VanSanten’s modeling career began at the age of 15 under the guidance of Page Parkes Management.

Shantel VanSanten was a contestant on NBC’s reality show Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search, but she was voted off in the first episode. In 2007, she joined the cast of a movie based on the book t.A.T.u. Come Back and filmed it in Los Angeles and Moscow.
The film, which she co-starred in with Mischa Barton, debuted in Russia on January 25, 2011, and in the United States a year later under the title You and I.
In 2009, VanSanten played Lori Milligan in “The Final Destination” film. That year, she joined The CW’s “One Tree Hill” as Quinn James, the sister of Bethany Joy Lenz’s character.
