Ronald Acuna Jr who came to MLB only at the end of last April, has never turned back since he has completed a greatest campaigns for a rookie in recent times. Last Monday he ended this fantastic season by bagging the National League’s Rookie of the Year award. He got 27 out of the 30 first place votes.
Acuna playing for the Braves helped them to enter the playoffs for the first time after 2013. He led the team with both force and emotional leadership. He played from the front and was able to hit 16 stolen bases and 26 home runs in just 111 games and also produced an very impressive .917 OPS. He also proved to be a solid left fielder during the entire season.

The main competition for the Rookie of the Year award was Nationals’ Juan Soto, who secured his own 22 home runs and went along with .932 OPS. But in the end Soto’s WAR score of 3.0 was topped by Acuna’s 4.1 WAR, which mainly contributed to the lopsided victory.
Throughout his time with the minors, Acuna had been a highly touted prospect. So he is expected to show more greatness for the Braves during the next decade. He has simply put a notice to the league.
