Riverdale maker hints Archie could be killed off in Season 5

From the very beginning of its run, Riverdale has been filled with outlandish plot details, but no-one would ever imagine the death of the main character Archie to be followed in the upcoming season five.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa recently shared images in his post on Twitter which suggests that there’s a chance that the character Archie could be killed off in season five which is about to stream soon on Netflix.

It is set to include a big-time jump. Title cards of Riverdale season five episodes three and four before a table read with the cast over Zoom were shared by showrunner Aguirre-Sacasa.

The very first card shows a graduating class in the image and is title Graduation. This won’t be coming as a surprise for the viewers as it was slated to be the end of season four but due to the coronavirus outburst, it was ended prematurely.

If you have carefully noticed the second image, the episode is titled Purgatory and the image shows Betty, Jughead, and Veronica at a graveside, and Archie’s face floating in the sky wearing a combat helmet.

The fans who have watched the season four of Riverdale speculate that this season might mark the end of his character as he hints in the last season that he was hoping to join the Naval Academy following graduation.

A fan commented, “DID ARCHIE DIE IN WAR OR SMN IM SO CONFUSED?????” while another wrote, “YOU’LL NOT KILL ARCHIE ROBERTO, YOU AREN’T CRAZY.”

The show debut on The CW in 2017, and since then it has established a cult. Fans all across the globe have been desperately waiting for its new season after the fourth season was cut short to 19 episodes.

The pre-production of the show has just begum in August this year and it is not yet slated when the show is set to release on the OTD platform. But certainly, there is going to be a delay and the show will not yet be out in October 2020.
